Better words for 'slop'

Why you ask?

Ahem this is my pet peeve of mine so please bear with me (or you can just walk out.) I think that to combat the bad AI, we need to diversify the way we use our words to make the counterargument to them. It’s so easy to overuse the word “slop” to express our anger towards how generative AI is forcing upon us.

But hearing that word thousand times repeatedly on any social media platforms make me laugh cringely a little. English is a wonderful language system (yes it’s true, in fact every language deserve its own praise). We should use different words too, we should use a thesaurus dictionary, make them be known, make them be used.

One word only should not describe the whole situation (or issue), else the word will become a “slop” itself.

You can say the AI generated work is hollow. They are soulless by nature. The works created by generative AI is flavorless, bland and tasteless. The works are one-dimensional and doesn’t have any creativity in them. Overtime, we can see through the masks and see that they are often messy, the elements are baked in, the joy or labor to create them is watered down, and they are unexciting and uninspiring to look at.

Wait, there are a lot more words to use too. You can see that how those LLMs put out those cheese garbage. The “arts” created by these so-called intelligences are just white bread to your brain. They are featureless by design, there is nothing to write home about them, and they are so stale and forgettable to take inspiration from.

I just barely scratched the surface of these, you can do better, you can make me feel ashamed how I used these words. I love the Internet, I just don’t like we just collectively choose just one word like “slop” to completely represent them, like we just ignore the gift of literacy that language bestow upon us.

We have so many words. We can take action to make those hyped technology becomes more grounded, more useful to us, and the least we can do is use words creatively.
